The North Huron School District is seeking qualified candidates to be considered for a position on the school board due to the resignation of a current board member.  To be eligible, a person must be a qualified school elector. This means that the applicant must be a registered voter in the school district. An applicant must be at least 18 years of age; a citizen of the United States; a resident of the state of Michigan for at least 30 days; and a resident of the school district. The appointed candidate will serve from the date of appointment until December 31, 2024. The appointed candidate would be eligible to seek election to a full term of six years on the November 5, 2024 ballot.  The six-year term would begin on  January 1, 2025. Individuals interested in being considered for the board vacancy should submit a letter of interest which includes background information about the candidate with any specific qualifications and current school or community involvement. Letters of interest must be submitted to Martin Prout, Superintendent by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024. They may be emailed to proutm@nhuron.org or sent via U.S.P.S. to North Huron School District, Attention Martin Prout, Superintendent, 21 Main Street, Kinde, MI  48445. Letters of interest may also be hand delivered to the superintendent’s office.
