North Huron Schools has started an Esports Team at both the middle school and high school levels.  The high school team is in the Michigan High School Esports League (MHSEL) while the middle school team is part of MHSEL Prep.  In the Spring 2023 season ther were 93 schools and over 1300 students completing in MHSEL.  This Spring 2024 season is expected to be even bigger!

Team members match up with other teams in Michigan and complete remotely each week.  Regular season play is eight weeks long followed by playoffs and a state championship.  Since each game is played remotely there is no travel.  The number of players on each team depends on the game that is being played.  Some games are single player while others have up to 5 students on a game team.

MHSEL and MHSEL Prep offer a variety of game titles that students can compete in including Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart Deluxe 8, Splatoon 3 and Rocket Leauge.  The following titles are for MHSEL teams only: League of Legends, Hearthstone, Overwatch 2, Valorant, Madden 24, and NBA2K24.  For more information you can email kramert@nhuron.org.
