Our 6th grade band surprised our K–5 students today with an impromptu concert! 🎶 Mr. McNabb shared some great advice for anyone who wants to learn an instrument — you have to practice at home and take responsibility for your own learning. BTW that’s great advice for anything you want to improve at! We loved the performance and the inspiration!

It was a busy week in the jr. high science classroom. Learning how light behaves by doing experiments with spectroscopes and colored filers. Also, hands-on STEM related activities with staff from the HISD.

Physical Science students completed an "Egg Drop" challenge. Using a budget and list of available materials, they had to design a lander to protect a raw egg from a drop of about 25 feet. The eggs were dropped from the lift in the gym. Pictured teams built successful landers and their eggs survived the drop!
