It was a busy week in the jr. high science classroom. Learning how light behaves by doing experiments with spectroscopes and colored filers. Also, hands-on STEM related activities with staff from the HISD.

Physical Science students completed an "Egg Drop" challenge. Using a budget and list of available materials, they had to design a lander to protect a raw egg from a drop of about 25 feet. The eggs were dropped from the lift in the gym. Pictured teams built successful landers and their eggs survived the drop!

NHS PreK-5th grade Christmas singing concert was superb! Students were dressed up in holiday gear, voices were sweet, and dance moves were lighting up the stage. We wish the NHS community a very happy holiday season!

Thank you, Mrs. Smaglinski, for having preschool join kindergarten today for a cozy Christmas book, the children absolutely loved it! The importance of getting the preschoolers familiar with the kindergarten environment helps build confidence, reduce anxiety, and support a smooth transition by them learning the routines, expectations, and knowing that new spaces are safe and predictable before they enter kindergarten. We look forward to future books with you and your class!
