North Huron’s music program reached a historic milestone! Under the guidance and expertise of Band Director Darrin McNabb, North Huron’s music program continues to shine as both the Junior High and High School Bands earned Division I ratings at the recent Thumb Area Friends of the Arts Band Festival held last Thursday at Laker Schools.
Achieving Division I ratings—often referred to as “straight ones”—represents the highest level of performance and is a testament to the dedication, preparation, and talent of our student musicians. Even more impressive, this marks only the fourth time in school history that both the Junior High and High School Bands have earned straight Division I ratings in the same year.
This outstanding accomplishment reflects not only the hard work of our students, but also the commitment of our band program to excellence and continuous growth. Their performance is a strong example of what can be achieved through discipline, collaboration, and a shared passion for music.
Special recognition goes to 7th grader Nolen Hewitt and 8th grader Garrett Romzek, who went above and beyond by performing with both the Junior High and High School Bands during the festival. Their dedication and willingness to take on this challenge exemplify the leadership and commitment we strive to instill in all of our students.
We are incredibly proud of our band students and grateful for the support of our staff, families, and community. Their success highlights the strength of our fine arts programs and the important role they play in providing a well-rounded educational experience.
