North Huron School District is committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and respectful learning environment for every student. As part of this commitment, the Board of Education has adopted Policy 4.13 – Bullying, which clearly outlines expectations for student behavior and the district’s response to concerns.
The policy defines bullying as "repeated behavior—whether verbal, physical, social, or electronic—that causes harm or substantially interferes with a student’s educational experience." Bullying is not permitted in any school setting, during school-sponsored activities, or through electronic communication connected to school.
Equally important, the policy emphasizes prevention, reporting, and response. Students and families are encouraged to report concerns so they can be addressed promptly and appropriately. Reports are reviewed carefully by school administrators, with attention given to student safety, fairness, and due process. Retaliation for reporting concerns is not permitted.
North Huron Schools believes that positive relationships, clear expectations, and open communication between school and home are essential to fostering and continuing a strong school culture. Families are encouraged to partner with us by reviewing district policies and contacting their school if questions or concerns arise.
Where to Find Help
Families with questions or concerns related to student behavior are encouraged to contact their child’s building principal or school counselor. Principals and counselors are available to listen, provide guidance, and work collaboratively with families to ensure concerns are addressed in a timely and appropriate manner.
